MINISTERIAL DISCRETION
The Federal Minister for Health has a discretionary power to approve pharmacies in unusual circumstances where a community is left without reasonable access to the supply of pharmaceutical benefits as a consequence of the application of the Pharmacy Location Rules, and approval of the pharmacy is in the public interest.If you have a proposed pharmacy site that does not meet all of the requirements of any of the Pharmacy Location Rules, contact us for further discussion about the Ministerial Discretion process.
